Launch Day!
We've launched Behold the Wizard! and I couldn't be happier.
Behold the Wizard is something of an odd passion project that was inspired directly by seeing Shrike Studio's post on blusky that you can see HERE. The idea of a tiny game stuffed into a cassette case (the kind with no posts) was electric, and soon I was brainstorming ways to use dice pools and cards for something fun.
The format inspired the 80's metal genre, and the genre inspired the rules, it was a cascade of inspiration that I rode to the finish line in about a week. I did some playtesting myself, shared it to a few friends and ran it for my son. It's rough, lacking in art and layout, but I love it all the same.
But it can be something more, and that's why I put it up here on Itch.io for other people to try and maybe contribute to so that I can afford the artwork and layout to make the game really shine...
Of course, I'm not stopping here. Right after his playthrough of Behold the Wizard! my son looked up to me and said, "That was great! You should make one with a Barbarian next!"
